I wonder if you write in the note the type of connection which generated it?

Yes, I do this to some extent, but not for all notes—only for certain ones and only when I remember to do so. The reason is quite simple: recording the types of connections is not the top priority in my knowledge management system. What matters more to me is ensuring that my notes serve my tasks, projects, and goals. However, if I find it more meaningful in the future, I will likely adopt a more comprehensive approach.

Currently, I record the types of connections using a few methods:

1. **Task Execution:** When I’m working on a task and come up with an idea, I take a note about it. In that note, I link to the relevant note, task, or block that inspired the idea.

2. **Contextual Tags:** While walking, talking to someone, or engaging in other activities, I might think of an idea. In these cases, I add corresponding tags to indicate the context, such as "walking," "talking," or "listening to music."

3. **Explanatory Text:** Sometimes, I also include a brief explanation of how I arrived at the idea.

In summary, I occasionally record the type of connection when I feel it’s necessary, but not for every note, as it’s not a high priority for me.

You made a valid point; in the future, if I believe it’s important, I might use text to remind myself of the type of connection. For now, I approach this in a more spontaneous manner, doing it when I feel it’s needed or when I find it interesting to note.

I totally understand.

Spontaneous (and fast) >> comprehensive but slow and painful
